So glad to have you with us for this workshop. Each afternoon you will be asked to make a contribution to this blog to promote the goals of our writing community.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions of Patrick or me. We are here to help.

Thanks for the introduction!
I loved the icebreaker--both challenging and fun. Although I've used the comments and tracking features of Word, I learned new ways to manage them. And I really appreciate all the links, as well as the thoughtful discussions about teacher responsibility when having students use the Internet.

We are in murky waters here....but honestly, I think this is a good place to be. This is purposeful confusion because we're problematizing what it means to write and how to write.
I think the conversation regarding fears of students unmediated ventures into the Web are valid. I also think that we have a tendency to assume the worst when it comes to web content....most of the time, anyway.
I also need a nap. Time to rejuvenate!
I enjoyed the session. However, I feel that there was too much idol downtime (12:45-1:30). The sights were beneficial, but too much time was devoted to this activity.

Patrick and Ann thanks for passing along so much great information today. You both did a great job presenting new ways to use technology in writing and gave us lots to think about when it comes to writing collaboration with our students. I appreciated the hands on time with the computers. I'm looking forward to the rest of the class. Thanks again!

FANtastic!! I really enjoyed today. It is nice to get a small amount of information while having time to apply what we learned within the same day. Having Ann and Patrick explain strategies and other teachers piggy back on what was stated really made this day an authentic learning atmosphere! The best part was I learned how to use track changes.
Thank you very much Ann and Patrick!

I am reposting this for Jen. Her post did not give me the option to Publish/Delete/Mark as Spam
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Glad you enjoyed the day and took home some new things to try. Pace yourselves! There much more to go!
In the case of anything, baby steps at first. Deep breath! I was a little apprehensive about the tracking feature in Word, but quickly reminded myself that I could pick and choose what features would work best for me. Looking forward to more awesome discoveries!

Patrick and Ann, thanks for another great day. I enjoyed the activity this morning with our visual interpretations of the Minature World. You made us think about the use of images and our use of them in writing. Rethinking Power point was also helpful. It will change the way I've used it in the past. Thanks for all your time and attention .

I am learning so many practical strategies from this workshop. The depth of thinking while incorporating technology has enhanced my teaching and how I view and reflect on my teaching practices.
